Education

The Tipton Community School District serves approximately 900 K-12 students in three buildings and is consistently recognized as one of the best schools in eastern Iowa. The class sizes are small, the educators are top-notch and students are high-achieving. Tipton High School offers class-based and extracurricular programs normally only found in larger districts. Also, the high school has gone through extensive renovations on their weight room and auditorium. The K-8 facility includes a recently constructed middle school with a 1,300 seat competition gym that adjoins the middle school and elementary buildings.

For those interested in pursuing a post-secondary education, Kirkwood Community College's Cedar County Center presents quality, affordable education that's close to home. Kirkwood offers continuing education, personal and professional development, college credit classes, Career Edge Academies for high school students and high school/GED completion. In addition, there are approximately 20 educational institutions located within 45 miles of Tipton including the University of Iowa, Saint Ambrose University, Kirkwood Community College, Cornell College and more.
