The Tipton Chamber of Commerce and Tipton Lions Club will be celebrating their annual Old Fashioned Christmas and Tour of Lights on December 13 from 5:00-8:00 PM in downtown Tipton.  Enjoy the charm of the popular horse-drawn carriage rides or take a stroll through historic downtown where businesses will be aglow with decorated windows. Don’t forget to include some holiday shopping at local businesses, stop by the Spear House Bed & Breakfast Open House, pick up some goodies at the Old Cedar County Jail Bake Sale and visit the Cedar County Attic for some Old Fashioned Christmas fun. Santa will arrive at 5:00 by local fire truck and you can visit him from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Tipton Fire Station.

Also, the drawings for the Tipton Chamber of Commerce “Ca$h for Christmas” promotion will be held from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM.  Shoppers that make a $5 minimum purchase at participating chamber businesses between November 29 and December 12 can register to win a share of $500 in Chamber Bucks.

OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS & TOUR OF LIGHTS EVENTS INCLUDE:
 
Tipton Lions Club Horse-Drawn Tour of Lights
5-8 PM Tours will be boarding at the Hardacre Theater and St. Mary’s Hall.
Community Soup Supper at St. Mary’s Hall
4-8 PM Choice of Chili, Chicken Noodle and Potato soup, sandwich and beverage included. $7/Adults, $6/Children 5-12 and children under five are free. The Tipton Lions Club will be conducting FREE Iowa KidSight screening at the Community Soup Supper. This noninvasive screening is typically for children aged 6-48 months and the screening results are interpreted by eye care professionals at the University of Iowa hospitals.
Old Fashioned Christmas at the Cedar County Attic (Above Ms. Molly’s Antiques & Collectibles)
5-8 PM Visit the Cedar County Attic where there will be a live window display of Mr. & Mrs. Claus and one of their merry elves, a reenactment of the 3rd Iowa Calvary working on battle plans and Victorians ready to help children decorate their own Christmas cookies.
Open House & Bake Sale
5-8 PM Old Cedar County Jail at the corner of 4th & Lynn Street
Spear House Bed & Breakfast Open House
4-8 PM Stop in at the charming Spear House Bed & Breakfast for hot cider and goodies while taking in their Christmas decorations, including a sleigh in the front yard.
Goodies and Live Windows Downtown
Enjoy goodies in the downtown area courtesy of Citizens Bank and Liberty Trust & Savings Bank and live window displays courtesy of Nicole Rock’s School of Dance and the Cedar County Attic.
Santa in Tipton
Santa arrives in downtown Tipton by a local fire truck at 5 PM and you can visit with him at the fire station from 5-7 PM.  Don’t forget to drop your letters to Santa in his mailbox at Citizens Bank through Christmas Eve!
