The Tipton Community

Take a stroll through Tipton's neighborhoods, stop in at one of the many local restaurants, or attend a community event and you'll see why Tipton is such a success.

There are a large number of local community organizations ranging from a quilting club to a humane society. A number of these groups are extremely active in the community, adding to the unique atmosphere that Tipton residents enjoy.

Service groups such as Rotary, the Lions Club, and church-based groups make up the strong civil service-minded population of Tipton. Tipton's local cub scout troop volunteered with landscaping projects at the Kennedy Family Aquatic Center in 2005.These groups assist a number of very worthy causes, both local and international in scope.

Tipton's Chamber of Commerce is responsible for a large number of community events and promotions annually, and work hard to enhance Tipton's commercial base, both downtown and city-wide. The Tipton School District is a cornerstone of the community, with events and programs for all ages of school children. The district is continually praised for the number and variety of extra-curricular activites available for One of the youngest Tipton residents enjoys the High School marching band at the 2006 homecoming parade.students as well as the high quality classroom education that Tipton students receive. Administrators work hard to assure continued success, from technology upgrades to school facility improvements. The High School works with local post-secondary institutions such as Kirkwood to provide dual-enrollment opportunities and partners with nearby North Cedar High School to provide cooperative learning programs for both schools.

Whether you're at the annual downtown "Ridiculous Days", the homecoming parade, a youth T-ball game, or celebrating the holidays at the "Horsedrawn Tour of Lights", you're sure to meet friendly prople and enjoy a richly progressive and active community here in Tipton.
