Mathews Memorial Airport |

Mathews Memorial Airport, located on W. South Street (Cedar Valley Road) just Southwest of Tipton, is Tipton's municipal airport. The facility caters to all small aircraft needs, including on-site 24 hour self service fueling, a 3000-foot concrete runway, passenger terminal and lounge, public telephone, and restrooms. The City of Tipton has appointed an official committee to oversee airport operations. That committee consists of: Jim Rohlf, Mike Moes, Klay Johnson, Ed Melecker, Timm Wynkoop, Jerry Goldsmith, Dave Kruse, Larry Lynch, and Max Coppess. NEWS: A new hanger at the airport is now under construction. It is scheduled to be completed before the open house on June 29, 2008. This will increase the hanger space at the Tipton Airport by an additional 3 to 4 airplanes. click here for construction photo UPCOMING EVENTS: * Coming in May 2008: Young Eagle rides sponsord by the Tipton Airport Committee. Free rides will be offered to area youth by local pilots with the help of the Muscatine chapter of the EAA.
